7 things you have to do whilst in Salzburg ♡

I have truly fallen in love with Austria. Salzburg is such a charming city and during my 3 night break here, I’ve discovered that there are many, many reasons everyone should visit Salzburg at least once in their lifetime.

I have narrowed down my 7 favourite things I loved and recommend highly to do whilst staying in Salzburg.

1) Visit Residenzplatz

This is such a cute little area in Salzburg. You will often find markets in and around streets or quaint little shops here. History is all around with many fascinating buildings like the one pictured above.

2) Fortress Hohensalzburg

On our first day in Salzburg we went straight up to this beautiful fortress/castle upon a hill. It’s one of the most recognisable and most visited landmarks in the city and now I know why. The castle itself is fun to look at but the views alone make it worth the visit.

3) Visit all the Mozart points of interest

Mozart is still very much alive in the eyes of Salzburg. You can’t go to Salzburg and not think of Mozart when there’s Mozart memorabilia and chocolate everywhere.

Join in with the Mozart-crazy Austrians by celebrating the musical prodigy by viewing his birthplace and house as pictured above.

4) Go shopping in Altstadt

Salzburg isn’t the biggest of cities and the shops are somewhat limited but they just have something about them. I know for a fact that I have never shopped somewhere with so much beautiful scenery surrounding the area such as the beautiful homes in the mountains.

5) Visit the Love Lock Bridge

I personally love… love lock bridges. I think it’s such a good idea to celebrate loved ones. I’m not for people chucking the key in the river but beside that I just think this is a landmark not to be missed.

6) Salzburg Cathedral

I really wasn’t expecting to enjoy looking around this glorious cathedral half as much as I did. I’m not religious in the slightest and I don’t really have an interest in architecture but this building truly is stunning from the outside and within. Definitely worth a visit.

7) The Sound Of Music Tour Saving the best for last here. This tour was INCREDIBLE. You do not (by ANY means) have to be a fan of the sound of music to enjoy this tour. Of course I knew a few of the songs but I hadn’t watched the movie in absolute donkey years and still very much enjoyed my tour.

You get to hear some really interesting facts, spend 4 hours going to such scenic places and have a little song song on the coach. I’m such an 80 year old in a 21 year old’s body so I thought that was bloody brilliant. I would recommend it to anyone visiting Salzburg.

That’s all for now. I hope you enjoyed this post.

Have you ever been to Austria? Where do you recommend for my next city break in Europe? Leave a comment as I’d love to know your thoughts!

Thanks for reading!

Netflix favourites | January 2019 ♡

It’s 2019 and who doesn’t own or have a stolen login of a family members, friends or even ex’s (oops) Netflix account.

Now I don’t know about you but I personally find Netflix very hit and miss. So if you’re looking for a Netflix guide from someone other than a picky film/tv critic but instead just your average gal then look no further!

Each month, I’ll be bringing you a list of everything I’ve watched on Netflix and then I’ll rate them and compile a list of my 3 must watch picks.

(THIS IS A NO SPOILER ZONE, I GOT YA)

Let’s get started!

Day 1 • You (TV series)

Evil version of Dexter meets Gossip Girl? If you’re looking for a more adult version of the above plus PLL (Oh Emily from PLL and Dan from Gossip Girl actors both feature, btw) then this might be for you!

Long story short: obsessive boy meets girl, it gets messy.

9.5/10

Black Mirror Bandersnatch

I’m a huge Black Mirror fan. Black Mirror is liiiiiiife so I had some pretty high expectations when they released a one off episode/short film in December called Bandersnatch.

If you like programmes that really make you think deep and question almost everything then this is going to be your cup of tea. Super centred around free will which I’m highly interested in.

Long story short: an interactive episode (you choose what happens!) but not an overly compelling storyline. However I found it unique and one to remember solely just because of the interactive aspect.

4/10

Abducted in Plain Sight

I love real crime documentaries. I find them beyond interesting. I liked how this one was told by many narratives and how it was so unlike any other case I’ve watched before.

The storyline is very twisted and makes for an interesting watch, probably one that will stick in my mind for a long time.

Long story short: if you like true crime documentaries then you should add this to your list but beware the sheer naivety of the parents in this case will absolutely irritate the SH** out of you.

7/10

Sex Education

The odds are that you’ve already watched this or you’ve seen a massive hype for it and to me, the hype is real. This series is definitely my cup of tea.

Admittedly it took me an episode or two to get really invested but in the end I was HOOKED. Thank goodness they’re making a series 2.

Long story short: if you like quirky coming-of-age British tv shows then this will be a bit of you. To me it had a slight likeness of ‘The End of the F***ing World’ which I also loved.

10/10

A Series of Unfortunate Events S3

I’ve absolutely loved watching these series so the fact that this was the last one was quite upsetting to me. It took me a while to go with it but all in all, I think they did good with this series adaptation.

Admittedly I never finished the books so I don’t know how exactly the ending compared to the books but I feel like this was a good ending to the show, many things got revealed and I was left satisfied.

Long story short: be open minded when watching a series of unfortunate events and you’ll grow to love the kookiness of it, at least I did.

9/10

Every Day

A romance movie about a girl who falls in love with a mysterious spirit who inhabits a different body every day. Certainly a unique plot, right?

This is no cinematic masterpiece but it’s definitely nothing like I’ve seen before and although I didn’t love it, I’d be lying if i didn’t say that I was pretty interested and that I might have even shed a tear at the end. I was tired, ok?

Long story short: sometimes we just want an easy watch right? If you’re looking for a teen romance movie and you’ve watched all the greats, give this a go because it’s watchable and despite not the best reviews it kept me entertained for an hour or so.

7/10

Fyre: the Greatest Party that Never Happened

As soon as I saw this on Netflix I wanted to give it a go. I saw a little about Fyre on the news at the time but I didn’t really know what happened in detail.

I love documentaries so I got on well with this. It just shows how easily we get manipulated by social media and influencers. Oh and just another example of how certain men should never EVER be in any form of power or leadership. Not a sly dig or anything.

Long story short: if like me you were interested by the whole Fyre Festival scandal but feel like you wanted to know what actually happened, this is a good watch for you.

6/10

So, that’s it. Due to my ratings my top 3 are:

1) Sex Education

2) You

3) A Series of Unfortunate Events

Of course all opinions are my own. Images used are from the Netflix App.

Let me know in the comments what you’ve watched this month. Any recommendations would be highly appreciated!

Thanks for reading.

Top 10 things you MUST do in Las Vegas ♡

Las Vegas or “Sin City” is the entertainment capital of the world. This city boasts glitz and glamour, luck of the dice and a whole lot of partying.

Last September I was lucky enough to give this glorious city a visit and let me tell you, it does NOT disappoint.

Here are my top 10 things that I personally think you NEED to do when in Las Vegas.

1) Welcome to Fabulous Las Vegas Sign

I mean seriously?! Have you even been to Vegas if you don’t have this picture? It’s a must. Everyone knows that.

2) See a show

Vegas is renowned for its many shows on offer, there truly is a show for anyone. From magicians to DJ’s to pop royalty who have year long residencies to absolutely anything.

The list of shows here are endless and will suit any type of persons needs. My personal favourite out of the few I watched was definitely ‘O’ by Cirque Du Soleil.

It was a little pricey but worth every penny as I was left speechless from beginning to end. You really have to come see this one.

3) Visit Downtown Vegas / Fremont Street

Whilst doing my research on Vegas before I went I found that there were a few mixed reviews on Fremont street. Some people said it was too sketchy and some people said it was the heart of their Vegas trip. I’m definitely with the latter.

This place was so memorable during my trip. It’s full of fantastic performers, some admittedly weird and wonderful but if you love people watching this is a place for you.

Full of excitement, cheap drinks, even zip-lining above crowds and against massive screens filled with music videos. You have to add Fremont to your itinerary I’m telling you.

Plus I was 1/2 young girls and I felt completely safe here, just make sure you have transport to and from Fremont experience and don’t wander too far off, like anywhere you go!

4) Fear the Walking Dead Survival Maze

Whilst in Fremont street, you absolutely have to do the Fear The Walking Dead Survival Maze.

If you’re like me and absolutely live for scare mazes, this will be right up your street.

This is part scare maze and part escape room. I’ve been to Universal fright nights and through so many scare mazes on Halloween but this one rivals them all!

5 & 6) Go to the Eiffel Tower observatory deck and watch the Bellagio fountains

I’ve placed these two together because both are a must and I personally think that the best angle/view of the bellagio fountains that you’re going to get is from the top of the Paris observation deck. Go at night for a stunning view, honestly it’s heaven.

7) Go on the Stratosphere Rides

If you’re a real thrill seeker you need to get yourself to the stratosphere. Not only does this hotel offer stunning 360 views of Vegas from such a high point but you can also plummet off the top if you wish with their bungee jump.

If you’re not brave enough for that (because I mean that takes some serious guts right?) then you may want to opt for some of the scariest rides in the world.

I went on X-Scream because the others were closed due to high winds but my god it was terrifying and I’m a huge ride fan so be prepared!

X-scream propels you and headfirst, 27 feet over the edge. Good luck.

8) Go on a helicopter over the strip at night

I get that this isn’t budget friendly for everyone but honestly this is so worth saving up for. I can honestly say that this is the best thing I’ve ever, ever done and I will remember the views and the whole experience right until I’m grey and old.

If you’re going to go on a ride I honestly recommend going at night, Vegas is known for its bright lights so it makes sense.

I personally recommend going with the Maverick company as i found them to be so professional and they just made the experience so exciting.

9) Go on a Gondola Ride in the Venetian

Vegas truly spoils you rotten on the hotel front. There are so many beautiful, unique hotels here that leave you in awe but my personal favourite was the Venetian.

You can take a gondola ride inside the hotel or out without having to book flights to Italy, pretty cool right?

This was one of my favourite things to do on this trip, the gondola rider even sings to you. How cute.

10) Go on a party bus

Tacky as hell right?! And yes I don’t have a picture for this one and that’s because the pictures I have are either not appropriate or blurred to the heavens. This was honestly such a fun thing to do in Vegas.

If you’re 21 or over you have to hit the clubs, even if that’s not really your scene usually it’s something you’ve got to experience.

A club crawl party bus is the best option as you get to go to some of the best clubs in one night hassle free. Which isn’t always the case as usually getting into Vegas clubs can sometimes be difficult so honestly this is the best way. Plus you get to hang out with mostly Americans and some fellow international tourists on a massive bus and get free pre drinks, what’s not to love?

My personal favourite club was Drai’s.

So, that’s it!

That’s my list of 10 things you must do in Vegas. It’s so hard to narrow a week of such unforgettable memories into a list of just ten so here are some honourable mentions.

• Take a day trip to LA

• Hotel hop, see as many as you can!

• The Bellagio Conservatory is a breathtaking must.

• Go to Eggslut for breakfast, I’m telling ya

• Have a little RESPONSIBLE fun on the slot machines

Thanks for reading! I hope you enjoyed this post and if you’re going to Vegas anytime soon, have the best time, I know you will anyway.

Please drop a comment if you’ve been to Vegas, are planning to go to Vegas or would just love to as I’d love to hear your stories.

Anastasia Beverly Hills Liquid Lipsticks Review with Swatches ♡ | Blogmas Day 3

Hello and welcome to Blogmas Day Three!  If you missed yesterday’s post, I’ll leave it here! (My Christmas Beauty gift guide)

Today I thought I’d do a beauty review of these gorgeous must-haves (of which I think would be perfect presents!)

As a liquid lipstick crazed lady, it’s no surprise that I now have a small collection of Anastasia Beverly Hills Liquid Lipsticks ($20) forming.

These liquid lipsticks have been ranted and raved about on absolutely every social media platform but are they worth the hype?

Today, I have three of my favourite shades to show:

A soft beige (lighter Dusty Rose)

A muted coral

A nude mauve

These are intensely pigmented, cult-favorite liquid lipsticks that delivers a rich, long-wearing matte look to lips.

The flat sponge-tip applicator applies these Anastasia Beverly Hills Liquid Lipsticks with precision for an unforgettable look that lasts for hours.

You get an intense amount of matte pigment in a single swipe. Just one application leaves lips with smear-resistant coverage that stays put for hours which makes it perfect for every busy woman on the go.

So, are these worth the hype?

I’d say that these are some of the most drying liquid lipsticks in my collection but they are by far the most luxurious with the most beautiful of shades. There’s just something extra special about an Anastasia Beverly Hills liquid lipstick, whether it’s the fancy chic packaging or the formula, they just stand out in the crowd.

So, let me know! Do you think these are worth the hype? What’s your opinion? Let me know! Also, are you participating in Blogmas? If you are, do leave a link below!

See you tomorrow for Blogmas day 4! x

Kat Von D Everlasting Liquid Lipstick in ‘Melancholia’ and ‘Lovesick’ | Review with Swatches ♡

When I was in Florida in September, I had a little spending spree in Sephora. At this time, we didn’t have Kat Von D beauty in the UK so I decided to pick up a few things because I love my Shade and Light contour palette so much I wanted to explore the brand more.

I decided to pick up two Kat Von D Everlasting Liquid Lipsticks (£14.40) in two shades.

The two shades I picked up were ‘Lovesick’, a mauve nude/cool pink. It’s a muted, medium-dark pinky-plum with cool undertones and a matte finish and ‘Melancholia’, a rose blush shade. A brightened, light-medium pink with warm, yellow undertones and a matte finish.

                                          LOVESICK

This shade really isn’t for me so I’m a bit baffled to why I picked it up haha. It’s just not really my shade and it reminds me of something I would’ve worn in school (which was never a good look) it also looks more vibrant in person and I’m just generally not a fan of it.

                                   MELANCHOLIA

I personally really like this shade, it’s a perfect everyday colour and applies evenely in just one fair swoop.

What I think of the quality of these products:

As you kind of expect when it comes to liquid lipsticks, these are quite drying. Less so than the likes of the Anastasia Beverly Hills but more so than say Colourpop.

These claim to be 24-hour wear and although I would never actually test it for that long, I find that these definitely last a long time with just a  fade after a few hours and typically aren’t as vibrant as they were at first application by no means but they do last all day. Sadly, they also get more drying throughout the day so lip balm is DEFINITELY needed.

One thing I love about this collection is that there’s a vast variety of shades, 28 in fact! There’s definitely a wide range from some killer nudes to the darkest of blacks you ever did see. There’s really a shade for everyone here.

Another great thing about these lipsticks are that it’s 100% cruelty free! That’s just so important to so many people and therefore this is a product that everyone can be happy with!

To conclude, I think that if you’re a fan of liquid lipsticks you shoud definitely have a nosey at these. They’re good value for money IMO and have some very unique shades to choose from!

Thanks for stopping by my blog today! What’s your opinion on the Kat Von D everlasting liquid lipsticks? Let me know! ♡

Colourpop Liquid Lipstick Haul With Swatches ♡

If you’re a liquid lipstick fanatic, it’s quite likely that you’ve already delved deep into the colourful world of Colourpop.

As a huge fan of all things lip products, I was baffled to why I hadn’t yet jumped on the bandwagon myself until later last month when I finally splurged.

I bought 6 liquid lipsticks and 1 lip liner, they came beautifully packaged with a funny little novelty postcard from the company, which I think is a lovely little extra and should be done by all companies!

With each of the liquid lipsticks costing $6 and the lip pencil costing $5, the total of the products came up to $41 without delivery which was $25 so all together it cost me $66 (£53) but then I also had to pay a customs charge which was £14 so that made the total £67, so it is very, very expensive to buy from the UK rather than the US.

Although today I’m just showing you the products I bought rather than reviewing them, I can say that so far I love how for liquid lipsticks, these aren’t too drying at all. They are very easy to apply, a little product goes a long way, apply evenly, last all day and give off such wonderful pigmentation. There’s such a vast range of colours to choose from as well, you can take a look at all the shade variations here.

Anyway, here’s the shades I went for.

Clueless is an Ultra Matte Lip and is a gorgeous dusty mauve pink shade.Viper is also an Ultra Matte Lip and is a true dusty rose colour.

Bad Habit is again an Ultra Matte Lip is again described as a dusty rose but to me it’s a vibrant shade.

Bianca is an Ultra Matte Lip and is a soft nude mauve.

TIme Square is a gorgeous light nude shade.

Femme is an ultra satin lip and is a muted dirty lilac shade.

As always, thank you so much for stopping by my blog today. Do let me know if you’ve tried anything from Colourpop before. Do you think it’s worth the hefty shipping price? Which shades appeal to you?

Tarte Rainforest Of The Sea Eyeshadow Palette Review With Swatches

The Tarte Rainforest of the Sea Eyeshadow Palette (£25) is a beautiful 8 shade eyeshadow palette and is the second eyeshadow palette from Tarte that I’ve tried (and loved)

Since I bought my tartelette in bloom palette, I knew I would jump on the Tarte bandwagon soon enough and by another eyeshadow palette as I was so impressed. Although Tarte have changed things up a bit with this gem, including their eyeshadow formula, they have not let me down.

This palette is a little smaller and compact in size compared to most of Tarte’s palettes and each shade contains 0.05 oz of product, but for the formula quality and the fairly realistic price, I would say it’s worth the money.

The packaging of this palette is truly divine, from the box to the metal casing. It’s also worth mentioning that this palette is limited edition so if you’re interested in purchasing this beaut, I’d act swiftly!

The formula of these shadows are plush and velvety with a hydrating finish that has a creamy powder consistency. I found them to being very soft and easy to blend, they had little to none fall out and left a really beautiful wearable colour with strong pigment.

(Shades from left to right: Seashell, Wave, Abyss and Reef)

(Starfish, Cove, Sand and Mermaid)

All in all, I’d say that I eagerly approve of this palette. The packaging is lovely, all of the shades are colours I’d wear day or night and the formula is top. I’d totally recommend this for you, especially if you’re one for a bronze/copper eye look.

Have you tried this palette? Let me know!

Thank you so much for stopping by my blog today, I hope you find this post enjoyable and/or helpful. Have a great day! ♡
